Why SALT + TONGUE Exists

This is not a platform.
It is not a call for submissions, a curated journal, or a community hub.

This is a reclamation.
A body of work born from silence and shaped in fire.

SALT + TONGUE is my personal record of survival and return. It is where I lay down the words I wasn’t supposed to speak, the poems I wasn’t meant to write, the rage I was taught to swallow, and the softness I learned to protect.

I grew up knowing what it meant to be quiet, to behave, to disappear.
But writing saved me.
Voice remade me.
And now, this space holds what I never want to lose again: truth without permission.

What You'll Find Here

  • Poetry that reckons with memory, body, and voice

  • Reflections on what it means to live after silencing

  • Rage, Grace, and Becoming—the three threads through which I weave meaning

  • Pieces that hold space for grief, transformation, and the sacred work of returning to yourself

There are no guest features.
No open calls.
This isn’t meant to grow wide. It’s meant to grow deep.

If You Are Here

If you’ve been silenced.
If you’ve carried stories alone.
If you’ve clawed your way back to your own name.

You are welcome here.
Not as a follower, but as someone who knows what it means to rise wild and uninvited.
Let these words meet you wherever you are—in the soft, the sharp, the in-between.

You don’t need permission to bloom.
